Happy Canoe Year on the North Branch of the Chicago River

The nearly 200 people who braved the cold on New Year's Day enjoyed truly spectacular views. Snow flocked the trees to create a winter scene that was even more beautiful when viewed from the river.

The Forest Preserve provided a refreshment tent with hot beverages, fruit and cookies at trip's end in Linne.

Special thanks to all of the volunteers who helped make this a safe and fun event.
