Friends of the Morton Grove Forest Preserves

We are a group formed in 1997 with the mission of being the stewards of our local forests, prairies, and waterways in Morton Grove. In addition, to advocate the restoration and preservation of these natural areas.

Our on-going campaigns:
- Campaign to prevent illegal picking and digging of wildflowers and plants.
- Restoration of the Deep Tunnel site.
- Restoring woodlands and prairies.
- Monitoring and cleaning the North Branch of the Chicago River.
- Tours, education, and just plain fun.
- Birdwatching
- Canoe trips
- Taking Morton Grove school children on prairie walks and woodland tours.


Directions

Linne Woods Prairie:
From Linne Woods:
Meet at the North end of the Linne Woods Parking lot, and cross the North Branch on the footbridge, north west across the bike path. Enter the Parking Lot north of Dempster St. near Ferris Ave., west of the McDonald's on Dempster.
From Wayside Woods:
Meet at Wayside Woods Parking lot (below), and cross Lehigh Ave. and the railroad tracks near Churchill St.

Wayside Woods Prairie:
Meet at Wayside Woods Prairie Forest Preserve parking lot on the West side of Lehigh Ave.,a few blocks east of Waukegan Road and just north of Dempster St., south of Beckwith Rd/Church St.

Miami Woods Prairie:
For Northern Section:
Meet in the south east corner of the parking lot of Prairie View Shopping Center behind Frank's Nursery and Crafts. The Shopping Center is at the south east corner of Dempster St. and Waukegan Rd.
For Southern Section:
Meet in the parking lot for Miami Woods, the east side of Caldwell Rd, two blocks north of Oakton.
